Today a better future begins

Hi everybody!

First of all, let me wish all of you a very good 2017. I'm sure that this is going to be a very interesting year. And not only that, but I also believe that this is the year when we start writing a better future.

Last time I was here, I was really disappointed, I would say with humanity itself. It took me a few weeks to find the way to contribute to make that what happened last year never repeats again. And I really believe that this starting today is going to make the job.

First I want to tell you that I'm not and never will be a political person. Here I will not speak about politics. But I definitely needed to evolve. My opinions on many of daily issues are known for very few people. Some of those, I would say that not even my wife knows. And believe when I say that she knows everything about me. I don't know if those ideas are worth knowing, but 2016 has teached me that I can not stay on silence. During last year I've seen a lot of people desperate to find new ways to go through their day to day. And in that desperation the become victims to some ideas that I don't think help us to evolve as humanity. today starts my contribution to change that.

Today I'll start to share my theories, my ideas on project management, to our life. To that happening everyday on the planet. I'm going to take this place into a reflexion spot, from our project as humanity point of view, about the reality we are living. And which is our project as humanity? I'll take this premise as a departing point:

"We all want to be better human beings"

I'm taking the idea that every single people living in this planet is trying to be a better human being. I'm going to assume that everything we do and say, we do because we are trying to grow, to reach an ideal of kindness. I do realize that is a lot to assume, but I would like to believe that we can go there. And this is my contribution to that journey.

Today becomes real something decided some months ago. Today starts the age of Donald Trump as president of the United States and, probably until today, which meant also the presidency of the planet. I definitely do not share the idea of close to 60 million north american citizens, I don't think this is good news. But beyond that, I really think that we should take this opportunity we are facing.

I usually talk about an episode we lived on a project. It was my first complete project in Mexico. We were already late on the program and somebody stole a pretty important tool for us, one without was impossible to continue for at least two months. Definitely we were done. But finally, after an unavoidable period of desperation, anger, despondency and all kind of negative sensations, we put ourselves together again. Our team found a way to move forward and, not only we reached the goal, but we did it better and faster that we would have done without that disaster happening. That taught something that I could not put into words until some time passed, but that has been with me along the way all since then.

I do believe that understanding what Will Smith is saying here is the key to move forward into our project. Donald Trump, with all his ideas, is the president of the United States. But what we do about that, that's our decision. It's on our hands to decide what we want to do. Do we want to moan because of our very bad luck born on the election of our north neighbours or do we want to take the wheel on our situation and start to change the future? I pick second one and that's why I'm back here.

Today starts a better future. Today we begin to write which is going to be a better reality. Let´s leave the 45th president of the United States decide what he thinks is better for his country and his people. And let us do the same about our lives.

From today on I'll take day to day examples from the news and I'll try to turn them into opportunities. Here I'll analyze what we can learn from each of these facts. I'm not going to change the facts. That's something I can't do. But I can decide how to react. If I'm lucky, those ideas kept only for me until today, will be helpful for other people. And if I'm very lucky, some of those people will be intelligent enough to continue this way I'm starting to build today.
